I wouldn't say it's mandatory to pick up the first volume. But they do kinda drop you right where vol.1 left off. I hadn't finished the first one but i was far enough in to know basically what was going on when I jumped into vol.2. Although some story elements will make a little more sense if you've seen vol.1. I personally found vol.1 a little frustrating as far as getting the story to progress. In vol.1 you spend a lot of time going from location to location and spamming investigate/talk/observe until something happens. I got stuck a lot. Vol.2 doesn't make you do that. It's pretty straight forward. You still gotta spam investigate/talk/observe but at least you don't have a list of locations so you're guided down the proper path, with story branches being fairly obvious in most cases. It plays more like a movie that way.

Plus! During the credits they do a montage of all the non porn scenes from vol.1 &2. No talking, but I thought that was a nice touch.

So I'd say go ahead and grab vol.2 and if your curious about the events leading up to vol.2, you can struggle with vol.1 after you've seen the end, like I am, lol!

Thanks again Darq, for the pros & cons of part 1 vs part 2 !
Sent ya a pm as well

  • Darq: Nice review without dropping spoilers. Would you say it's required that i pick up the 1st volume? I've only seen clips, bits and pieces so i'm kind of lost in terms of story (which it looks like it has more then the average Umemero production). But if it's not too important and the H scenes aren't as good as volume 2, then i'd rather save my $27…and just jump into the fun with vol.2 :)
I know it's being fickle, but i also REALLY wish Umemero brought back the English dubs like Lewd Office and Twin Succubus. I found the voice overs to be pretty good, Dr.Sugimoto sounds damn sexy!!! It's obviously much cheaper just throwing up subtitles...but i'm sure he's making enough $ to hire back the english voice actors. Anybody else here prefer the english dubs?
