What I hate is that 8.1 and newer has remote access required in order to use internet. XP you could just go in and remove what you didn't like. Vista you could at least disable it, and W7 is the same. Get W7 while you still can.
W10, new features (and required for what gator was talking about in the other thread) but I do not like nor trust their EULA.
The more I see windows the more I hate it. Not particularly happy about apple anymore either.

I like it. I upgraded from Win 7, never used 8 except for a few minutes. Gazukull's idea of cloning your computer before is excellent. I did that just in case.
What really sold me is that it's a lot better with high density displays, and multiple. I got a 28" Ultra HD monitor that rocks. Then I keep my old 27" to the side. Works well.
Macs… Meh. Personally, I feel they are overpriced. You're in a niche too, not as flexible for apps. And since I like to game once in a while, that's out.

If I had the money I'd switch to mac. I use w10 as production machine, but am one of those that hates windows in principle! I agree with Gazukull, grab it while you can; you will have to switch eventually.

Been on W10 since the release on the whole network, 4 workstations 4 laptops. No problems here. So… I would probably get the upgrade while it is still available for 0$. Hell, even clone your W7 installation, upgrade and then go back. Just make sure to get the upgrade on the books as it were, so it is available.
