  • @'johnathan:

I understand that. I should of worded it better. The reason why I said I don't get it,is how do you actually know it exactly look like you?

Reference photos, and perhaps an eye for anatomy. I'm no sketch artist, but the experience of creating custom characters (for me personally) came in video games first. It made me think and consider all the different dimensions and aspects of how heads and faces are shaped, how bodies are shaped. Then again, I'm not sure of your age and years of experience in relation to what this sort of thing is. This thing of 3DX we're into is an evolution of that.

Let me explain this in more detail. 6 years ago to now. My friends use to(and still) comment on me looking like Kanye West(https://www.google.com/search?q=kanye+west&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwict-aEgfDKAhVENT4KHZDQDDMQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=m1ZgFFaqZuXKDM%3A). Friends are one thing, but when you have complete strangers saying the same thing I started wonder. Because when I look at Kanye west and My own pictures,I don't see the resemblance.

Subtler details perhaps? I can outline the general stuff to look at and compare.

Also it wouldn't hurt if you just ask people specifics.
    "How so?"
    "Why do you say that?"
"What part of me looks like [Kanye] that you notice?"

Take an interest, pursue your curiosity. It may be physical or it may be how you carry yourself.

I don't dress like him, sound nowhere like and I even wear glasses. Yet as late as two week ago a truck driver who enter the job that I work at comment that I look like kanye west.

Well, they see something you don't. The questions are What and/or why?

Could it be, perhaps, that you don't want to see it? –Do you abhor the man? (I can certainly see reasons why you would.)

Then there are people who cooment that I look like Will-I-Am(https://www.google.com/search?q=will+i+am&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjXiublhPDKAhVLej4KHf64DlMQ_AUIBygC) and again I personallly do not see the reseblance.

Okay. While I don't know what you look like, I CAN see a physical resemblance between the two of them. Take this for what you will as clues.

The overall shape of their heads is similar. The proportion of the head to the body is similar. Their jawline to neck look roughly about the same. Turn 90 degrees one way or the other, one could also get the chin and jaw sharpness, and the jaw depth to neck and throat ratio.
(You'll notice people with a shallow jaw tend to have a hard time getting rid of under chin fat–even if they don't have double chin their jaw looks "weak". Whereas someone with a deep jaw like Brock Lesnar would need to have a noticeable "bag" of fat under there before he got a double chin. I digress.

Onto the face, the eyes are similar, their mouth and lips are similar. Their cheekbones are both about the same height overall on their face and location on their heads. Kanye's jaw width is more even with his cheeks and tends to give a more square-ish block appearance, whereas Will-I-Am has a somewhat narrower jawline than his cheeks giving a sort of "V" appearance and looking a bit more angular, face-wise. Will's cheeks are thinner and tend to conform a little bit.

    Is this making any sense?

Maybe you might pick up some books on drawing western comics, and check out the custom character feature in a WWE smackdown game or similar. I've not taken classes, I promise.

So if I were making 3dX porn putting my self as the main charactor. How would people know that actually me and not kanye west that Im potraying or Will.I.Am?

Only what you tell them–assuming they will of course READ what you write. In a sense, actually, you have recognition in this case you could play any number of ways. Advantageously I might add.

Let me ask you this Argon. If people , friends and strangers a like say that you look like a young Freddie Mercury(https://www.google.com/search?q=will+i+am&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjXiublhPDKAhVLej4KHf64DlMQ_AUIBygC#tbm=isch&q=freddie+mercury) from the band queens.

    Dawwww. :)

Hmm. Maybe I'd spin it that I'm his little known brother. Or maybe that I'm a hetero Freddie into anthro and bestiality, since we know Freddie was gay. Or I could be a bisexual Freddie because they have twice the fun as people who are only gay or straight. Or maybe I have a thing for old ladies because my mother was a stripper once, and a thing for defenseless dock workers and their uptight wives.

Point being, it's something to work with. Then again, hair on scalp and face can (sometimes drastically) change an impression. It's subtle little details like I said above. You get me?

Yet you compare your face with his and you don't see resemblance

OK. So people are idiots. shrug :D Or maybe they legitimately see something I don't–so I'd try to find out exactly what it is. No point in letting it loom over your head like this, eh?

BTW, you might change in 7 years or so and look a bit different than you do now. People said I kind of looked like Ozzy Osbourne in high school. I only vaguely used to look like him. Now, even if I shaved my face for the first time since 2013, I doubt I'd look like him at all anymore, but I do sort of resemble my younger self.

Then one day a friend of yours made 3DX porn with a character that looks just like you. How would you know if it Freddie and not your image that he using or vice versa?

It's like the cyclops guy said: "Am I winking at you or blinking? –you'll never know! HAHAHA!" So what? If he was doing it to try to embarrass me, there's any number of ways I could get him back.

If you ask him is that charactor was base on you and he said no. How would you be able to know if he telling the truth? That what I mean I don't get it. Do you understand what I mean?

When you put it like that… again, unless your friend is being honest you will never really know (until you get confirmation). If that's a serious concern, then I suggest all is not well in your friendship.

While I can certainly appreciate where you're coming from in a reputation aspect, it also sounds to me like a little insecurity on your part.

If your friend is being a fuckoff...well you're a guy, he's a guy. Turnabout is fair play, isn't it?

  • I Don't get it:(

  • Well I've recreated myself in vidya before so this wouldn't be too different. Soul Calibur 4 and 5. WWE Smackdown.

I'm somewhat conflicted. I think if I do something of myself in 3DX I will have characters with my traits or somewhat resembling me but not…me exactly.

Non 3DX... Well, I always wanted to play a tragic villain. Or a psycho. Or to portray my own GTA style protagonist, or star wars (LEGENDS Expanded Universe for life motherfucker!). There's all kinds of stuff on Renderosity and the Daz store which would help bring some of my ideas to life but overall my wishlist has so many items on 'rosity alone I think I'm up around $13,000 projected. Probably double that in Daz store. So I have to pick carefully, and choose as much multi-use content as possible.

I digress... this cuts both ways. You ultimately have to decide before making it, let alone publishing, if you would be okay with it being out there and attached to you in some form or other. Even if you don't care what other people think, it can still affect you negatively and come back to haunt you. In fact, even things you make but never publish in this day and age aren't safe. You never know if, how or when something will get leaked. If you're okay with it in the big picture, fine and well. If not, you better rethink making it...

There is also another aspect: IMO 3D artists aren't bad about this at all, but in 2D I have to really wonder if some certain porn artists and their commissioning "clients" aren't trying to 'compensate' if you know what I mean. I'm not going to bad talk fellow artists as an aspiring one myself because that comes back around like you wouldn't believe. But it's worth noting that as a peer, this question has crossed my mind on numerous occasions.

Erogenesis did an amazing clone of Epoch, it's creepy good.

I mentioned he should have himself in a shit bukkake, but he declined. /shrug

Really? In which comic? I know he used Clara Ravens in the Gentlemen's Club, but this I had no way of knowing.

Not used in a comic yet I don't think. Epoch just showed it to me in the last two-three weeks.

As for the original topic, since all us asians look the same, I just use whatever is the current Daz Asian dude.

    Wait. Wait. Wait.

    You're human?

Don't make a show for the other readers - you see me enough during our sexy skypes.

  • I once took photos to try and create textures of myself, but it proved too much work. Also, if it had worked, I wouldn't want people to see it anyway.

    @'Nerddesign':

Woah, very hot. Perhaps the breasts are a bit too big, but that's just my personal taste.

    @'Tiffany':

Google Leanne Crow or Jordan Carver… mine are pretty similar.

I'd say that size is just about right for 3DX. :D

  • My ego doesn't allow me to create a version of myself. For the most part, I'll add my own characteristics to some of my characters, but that's about it.

  • Nah, not doing it. I am not opposed to putting others in it if they give me some good reference however ;)

  • Well, I actually look like the guy in your avatar…brother, is it you?!

Seriously though, no. My characters may inherit some of my traits but to place myself in my comics, not a chance. It would make me bias towards that character and that means it may actually survive one of my comics and we can't have that...

Also, it's often considered distasteful. I know Melkor Mancin had a commission where the guy wanted himself in his comic and it didn't go over well with his customers.

    I've done drawings as well.

I don't really do 3DX in general but I wouldn't really be opposed to it. I even told miro he could use 3d me as a new character if he wanted to.
