You can buy them, sure, but where can you HOST them for a reasonable price? I registered a Poser-related xxPorn.com site some years ago (forgot the name, but it's long been lost) and the hosting service I have been using for my newcenstein.com domain rejected it on the name alone, because it had porn in the name.

I can imagine they'd balk readily at a .xxx domain as well. Even their TOS says I can't host 3DX on it, even if it's password-restricted and invitation-only and all the screens I can put up to ensure of-age-only access.

I did find one hosting service that would allow the name and content, but they wanted thousands of dollars per year to do so.

Did you try hostgator? They allow porn. We haven't had any issues about our content (only when we crash their servers :D).

But I don't think SJWs are the reason why you can't host a .xxx domain as much as it's the hosting providers who's charging prices out the ass. People tend to forget that both sides have been working to censor porn for years. They just have different methods of doing so.

Nobody forgot about the .xxx domain, nobody has been able to find a host for them because of the SJWs.

I don't know who told you that. Even GoDaddy lets you buy .xxx domains. Hell, they're on sale right now.

What the world needs is a domain hosting service that operates in international waters/neutral territory so it cannot be bound by the laws of any nation regarding content, and is reasonably priced, and is guarded by the hacker groups who are always trying to bring down government and corporate servers.

However, accessing said domain through your local provider would still be a problem, since transmissions have to pass through their hardware/lines in countries that have governments with such a limited mentality.

So, in that regard, what the world needs is a universal "you are responsible for what your children access on the internet" law that removes the burden from content and service providers and puts it back on the parents.
If it results in the eventual inability of children to access the internet, I'm fine with it. Let them have filtered intranets in schools like we do in the workplace.

  • Great. So basically you pay a premium for a domain that sticks out and risk going out of business if costs continue to exceed income or you get stuck with a bland domain and hope people notice you.

I guess if it was easy it wouldn't be business. Still, ain't no fun though. This is extortion, have to throw in my lot as well..

  • Extortion is right. That's absurd and insane. This whole thing is practically criminal.
