Thanks for the heads up on just buying it from the store Nuke. I was going to wait for a flash sale, but if you get it from Reallusion not only was it $388, it comes with the newer version of exchange.

At best I can do some sexy time animation in Indigo. At worst I can use the BVH in my current pipeline of DS > Poser > Octane.

I watched tutorials on how to do shit like all day yesterday. So I am a bit prepared.

Good thing I procrasturbate a lot - got a email from DAZ for the BYO Flash sale the other day and picked up the IC6 Pro bundle (with Genesis functionality and Indigo RT) for $250, Mimic Live, and another outfit for G2F.
Sadly, it was like a 2-day deal and single-use only, and ONLY on 3 items. Still, the "upgrade" to 3DExchg 6 will cost me $200 (instead of $400, but only if I act soon, which I probably won't  )

We could start a thread where we swap knowledge. I have had to ask questions in the forums a couple of times so far for probably pretty basic stuff.

Much like I thought - Probably cannot do sex scenes it in until the forthcoming Zbrush integration takes place (FOR HOLES). However, it does seem to do wonders with the lipsync and non sex animation.

My experience with Indigo RT - Too slow. I will probably end up compositing the output into Octane rendered backgrounds.

I asked Paul (face_off) if he has considered a plug for Octane - that would make it perfect.

While I learn all this stuff - I am rendering mad sodomy animations as usually…

  • Looked at the iClone stuff again the other day. Seems I missed another sale where the $600 package at Daz was marked down to about $400.

But then if you go to their site directly, you can build the same bundle for $388. Iclone6 Pro with Genesis support and add the Indigo Renderer add-on.

Watching the promo videos, I'm liking the dynamic hair and cloth. They make it look like a simple matter of painting a greyscale map. I can do that

Still undecided as to whether I'll pick it up. $4000 for Max 2015 a couple of months ago and I've done little more than install Nvidia Hairworks and PhysX for it. I already know Poser's animation woes, but Daz looks like it may have potential, if I can tear myself out of Skyrim and Witcher 3 long enough to poke around with more than the shitty and V4-restricted animations that came with AniMate2.

Then there's Brekel for the Kinect v2 hardware, as well as iClone's Mocap plugin.

I'll grab the iClone demo this weekend when I'm off and see how quick and easy I can get into it. If it's as intuitive as Marvelous Designer was for me, I'll grab it.

  • I'm certainly interested in learning anim…will just have to add it to the bucket list for now though.

  • Thanks…

It's two looping sequences, that also run as full sequence. Just as needed.

Now I dont know what formatting 3DX prefers things in, but here is my two cents of few days of work.

    nice lil thing there :)

  • Yes, I do animations. It's the vocation I wish to be in. I've made works for 3d chat sites out there, both with hand-keyed works and some motion capture with Kinects.

Mostly I work in 3dsMax, because of the animation toolsets are pretty friendly. I cut my teeth on character animations in Poser and Daz both, but found their key editting tools lacking. The software development has lept passed me and I've needs to catch up.

  • Hmm. Seems I missed it lol

Haven't looked at the iClone stuff closely - the price has generally kept me away. I don't need another animation plugin though, I just need to get off my ass and set up my Kinect.

I have done minor/testing animation by hand in Poser over the years, but they always rendered so slowly on my machine - and typically crashed out before completing - that I fell out of the habit. I picked up an HP Z600 dual-Xeon workstation a while back, and loaded up a Stimuli V4+V4 animation in Poser and let it render. It hang. Or it's just taking a really, really long time. Task Manager showed all CPUs pegged (Hyperthreading enabled) so I shut it down. Might have to move it to Max and let it use the GPU instead, but Max is a whole 'nother ball of wax.

  • Sorry to double post but apparently the Daz store has iClone6 stuff going on right now…if you aren't put off by them that is.

  • ^^^Or you could go online and look for the talent. I'm sure there's perverted folks just about anywhere. Maybe pay people. :)

  • I need to clear some floor space so I can set up my Kinect and see about capturing motion for use in Poser/Studio. Once I get that rolling, I'll have to find "actors" to "perform" motions for 3DX animations. That's gonna be the difficult part - "Hey, bring your girlfriend over and bang her so I can mocap it." "umm..what?"

  • How well do tools for keys and graphs work on daz? Frame by frame is real tedious pain. The problems with preloaded tools is they may not cover what you need.

  • @'miro':

the jitter issues can be overcome with certain fixes, mostly moving the offending element closer to the body so it doesn't stretch beyond causing the snap

Thanks Miro, I will give that a shot.

  • i planned to do animations for a long time now, but my biggest problem is that those daz studio tools are so crappy :) would be gold to do some loops and stuff, people will go crazy for them thats for sure

  • administrators

animation is def worthwhile learning, good animation will easily garner more interest
