  • Ah. Busy life. I have an irregular schedule (not the typical 9-5) but I'm basically on call and I work 7 days a week. Plus being a handyman/groundskeeper/cleaner is a lot of physical stuff. Not that I have a problem with it, mind you, just that it does require a lot of time fixing stuff.

So I totally understand that gripe the little voice inside has about putting time in and working some more to do fun stuff. However, I've reached a point in life where instant gratification isn't as satisfying as it once was either. So I have to balance it out. Besides, if I've played a certain Dragon Warrior game and logged nearly 1000 hours over ~4 years and achieved just about everything a single player could without benefit of its brother game via connection…I'm pretty sure I can work at this.

I want to create some clothes, shoes, and accessories. I also ant to make some hair pieces of certain popular characters as well as my OCs.

While there's tools in Daz (which I intend to work with) and Poser as well as a number of things in other programs... I really liked what I saw with another artist's z-brush. She did a nice job of it, too. Especially since I have a little something in mind of an alternate reality of Final Fantasy 8--or at least its characters (I'm not spoiling what I want to do, though admittedly I never played it).

  • Heya. Yes I do work with a tablet. I have an older Wacom intuos 3 but have been saving up for the newest model. While I love what I see other artists doing in Zbrush, I just don't have time (or the money to pick it up legally) to learn Zbrush as well as I would like. I've even brought books on the program but basically wasn't able to grasp it.

  • ^^^Hey, these are pretty nice, actually.

    @'Redrobot':

I only dabbled in Zbrush for a little bit. The UI was way too much for me to handle and I got lost completely in it. Perhaps I need to give it another go with some patience. Here is all I was able to make in it.

Could it be you're using a mouse? Do you have a drawing/graphics tablet to use with it? That's how it was designed to work…

Wacom are a bit expensive but you can't go wrong. There is one with a better price out there that works great with it apparently. Huion 610 Pro.

    BEFORE you start using it
Whichever one you get, make sure you also have a plastics shop cut a 1/8" thick sheet (or thereabouts) to protect the screen. Have them match the outline of the tablet so it isn't awkward while you learn your touch with it. BTW, Don't take my quote of thickness for absolute, rather ascertain the teblet's sensitivity first. Then decide how thick the sheet should be, based on that.

The idea is you have enough sensitivity from the tablet, you needn't even touch the screen with your stylus. They have a distance of about 3/16". Helps to keep the clarity of the screen longer. There's companies who can do this online as well, like TAP plastics.

    Cool.

    @'Morfium':

The only thing I've really created in zbrush were this thing

the rest was mostly morphing and correcting stuff.

Hey, I'm a bit of a sword/knife/blade enthusiast myself. Anything from a knife, to a ghetto shank, to a lightsaber is allright with me.

  • @damn3d: While I prefer porn-ish (this IS a porn site afterall), I'm certainly not going to reject general stuff either. Just don't violate the DNP* rules. ;)

    *DNP = Do Not Post

Anyone here specialize in making 'clothing' or 'accessories'? :D

  • @damn3d

He needs a giant mars cock. GIANT!!!

    :D

  • LOL! That's creepy and hilarious at the same time! Well done!

    Hahaha!

  • @'~ArgonCyanide777':

After seeing someone make a Rinoa Heartilly* that wasn't bad at all in Z Brush, I've come to find it appealing.

*funny I never played a final fantasy game, I just really gravitate to her.

I know geografting custom stuff is a bit of a task so it's all the nicer when it comes out looking great. If you as a 3D artist have created something, anything, post pics of it. I'd like to see.

Well, I don't know if whould fit in this topic (my enlgish is bad and I don't know if I understood well).
My only full creation using ZBrush was a Mars Attack morph and textures for Genesis 2 Male…
