  • @'owhat':

I would be very interested to do this, I'm a Unity developer and I'd love to see something like G4E running on an Oculus Rift.

Problem is I have no idea where to get quality 3D models, or really anything about what you guys do here. I am assuming I will have to pay for them, but also figure that this is the best forum to ask where to find them, right?

I've never used poser or Daz. I'd need the models textured and rigged, either as a 3DS Max file or exported as fbx for import to Unity. If someone can point me in the right direction, that would be great. Better yet, if someone can actually give me a properly rigged 3D model to get started with, I'll write a simple model / animation viewer and release it for free in this thread. :)

I think your find that artists can not give away there models as they are part of a base model like V4 or Genasis, so if you would like one head over to Daz and download there free Daz studio and buy one of the model bases then you can export to Max or as a fbx.

Also note that while it might be great to be able to pan and dolly around the scene and view things from all angles, you wont ever have the same amazing quality that you get from rendered images. Not sure if people still find this so great when the viewed result does not have that great quality that made you drool over the original image in the first place :)

I probably just try a quick experiment with this in a while. Dont nail me to it though!

I do understand that the final renders with all the lighting and textures take a TON of computing power. But seeing some of the rough samples that Miro posted on the DLC thread it still looks hot! I think the appeal is more of the interactivity of it, even if it's just the camera.

I remember a long time ago there was this CG hentai game called Sexy Beach and it basically was just 3D models of anime girls posing and doing different actions while you watch, move the camera around, "take pictures" lol. It was very low poly and crude especially by today's console standards, but was pretty fun.

  • Should be doable with Unity3D aswell, and not that hard to actually just create a camera object that the player controls with the mouse. The only question is, how well would streaming work if you wanted to watch realtime animation through this.

For stills it shouldnt be much of a problem. You can easily develop a web based application for Unity that lets you watch from the browser. Not sure how fast it would be with the DAZ models though, they are rather high poly compared to game models.

  • You also could use the Cryengine 3 but it is a bit difficult to get something in it. which comes from Daz, it can read fbx and also comes with a lot of plug ins for maya and max and so on, but the last time I've tried to put in a Character I only got a ball where "no texture" were written on, I have to go to the toturial again to get it run I guess.

  • Sketchfab doesn't allow porn, guys. :-/

But with a stand-alone app, that would do the stuff :)

For example a game engine, like Unity (what IR are using for the demo apparently) or the Blender game engine

Now you're talking of it, I always wanted to create a low-res model of my Ayane and create one of these app/game.

  • Hilarious! I'm not Miro, but I've been thinking about something like this for a bit and was seriously investigating tech/platforms options the other day.

Sketchfab is nice, but I assumed they wouldn't allow anything explicit or even suggestive. Admittedly I didn't review their ToS, just assumed.

There was someone (Mike Inel) a while back doing some 3D viewers in DarkBASIC. One I had was http://mikeinel.deviantart.com/art/Hinata-and-Tenten-3D-Viewer-67844873. I think the site he had is now defunct and he may have moved on to 2D.

  • Haha I see! Well I've been happy with everything Miro has done so I'd be happy as is. Please put these out Miro? :D

A couple good examples from that site:

Would love to see Miro's girlfriends like this… :)

  • You can do that now with Sketchfab https://sketchfab.com/

I think it is fairly ridiculous though. I can already hear the same feebs that troll the main forum threads: "Make the cock bigger for me!" "Make her tits the size of boulders for me!" "Hey, animate this for me!" "Hey, someone else do something free for me so I never have to do any work and I can constantly make outrageous requests!"

You and about 10 others would buy it, then the rest would want more for free.
